Inspirational Photographer - Micah Albert.

My Inspirational Photographer
I have chosen Micah Albert as my inspirational photographer. I have taken a long look at all his work and have taken a great liking to his photos. In a lot of his photos he has focused on African landscapes, and in the background of the pictures, most of them have a savannah type background.
As far as we know about the photographer himself, He is based in California and born in 1979, which would make him thirty two years old. His main plot of his images are taken from some of the most challenging places in the world, e.g.. Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Chad, Dominican Republic of Congo. He tried to tackle major world issues through his images, including the Global food crisis, Plights of Refugee's, and Gender Based Violence. He has traveled to over 50 countries and is a avid lover of the outdoors, especially the American West.

Here are some examples of his photography;

Studio Lighting.

When you're setting up a light studio, you need to take into account a few things. First of all you need to think about the positioning of the model in the shot, and on the background.  Once they have been appropriately placed on the background you can place the fill light. This should be about 45 degree's from the model. Commonly there is a soft box on this light because it gives a soft light onto the face without making the face too light for the camera to capture it properly.

Secondly we need a key light which is your main light, this is like the sun of the photo studio, and will illuminate the whole set. This doesn't necessarily be facing at the model.

Initial Idea

We have decided to do a narrative on EDUCATION. Our narrative will be based around frustration and will represent our own thoughts on frustration in schools.  I will represent this in a way of snapping and breaking things, this is a very raw way of showing it.

I was given the task to make a 'Bokeh'. This took me a lot of trial and error but finally i ended up with these two pictues. Firstly i got the one just playing around having my phone in focus with the lights in the back ground with the circle i used being a hexagon, which you can just about make out! Then i got a bit creative and tried to make it look like a flame on top of a candle.

The Conflict Between Hot and Cold.

Conflict

I was given the task to take a photo showing conflict. This is what i came up with and this shows the contrast between hot and cold.  This is a ice cube, which represents the cold in the photo, and the flame shows the heat and i think we captured it well because the ice also seems to be melting.
